We chose Far East to be the start of Orchard Road as we believe that if we are at city, the places with more people are most likely Orchard Road. We defined this by observing the number of people, traffic lights and cars. Apparently, anywhere in Orchard till the MacDonald House (end of Orchard Road), not only was very crowded, there were often traffic jams on the streets and roads too. There are many shopping malls near Far East Plaza too but based on our research and observations, we chose Far East plaza as it quite is bustling.

Ngee Ann City is defined the middle of Orchard Road by us. It has the most number of vehicles, traffic jams and people. It has many shopping malls around it too, like Lucky Plaza, Tangs Plaza and ION Orchard. Ngee Ann City is indeed the most crowded place in Orchard Road.

On the other hand, we have come out with a decision and defined the MacDonald House as the end of Orchard Road. The MacDonald House functions as a banking hall so it is obvious that many people do go there. Plaza Singapura, the nearby shopping mall is also round the corner, so that will attract more people too. Based on our observations, even though there were many people, it was not as crowded as Ngee Ann City. Furthermore, the number of vehicles on the road has died down too. Hence, we chose the MacDonald House as the end of Orchard Road.
